Oklahoma City Stockyards - Where Cowboy Culture is King

The Oklahoma City Stockyards, or Stockyards City as it is known in OKC, is the true heart of cowboy culture in Oklahoma City.

It is the world's largest Stocker and Feeder cattle market. From its beginning in 1910 to the present day, the stockyards has been home to working cowboys and the many businesses that support them.

Today, Stockyards City caters to both the working cowboy and the tourist looking to experience western life.

There are stores where you can find western wear, Native American art and jewelery, and working gear such as chaps and saddles.

There are also excellent restaurants and even a rodeo Opry!

My Favorite Stockyards City Restaurant:

Cattlemen's Steakhouse:

Cattlemen's Steakhouse has been feeding hungry cowboys, ranchers, travelers, and tourists since 1910.

Some of the famous people that have eaten there are John Wayne, Reba McIntyre, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

Cattlemen's is often voted one of the best Steak Restaurants in OKC.

My Favorite Stockyards City Entertainment:

Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry:

The Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry features both established artists and tomorrow's stars.

The talent level and enthusiasm of the vocalists and the band will simply amaze you.

Shows are most Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM.
